حسن بلند شد :" تو فرزند صخر هستی , من فرزند علی. پدر بزرگ تو حرب است , پدر بزرگ من محمد . مادر تو هند است , مادر من فاطمه. مادر بزرگ تو نثیله است , مادر بزرگ من خدیجه . خدا هر کدام از ما را که بدنام و منافق و کافر است , لعنت کند."
مردم آمین گفتند ؛ سخن رانیِ معاویه تمام شد . جواب ِ بدگویی هایش از علی را گرفته بود.
