به طور کلی، خریدن دستگاه انگشت زن برای مدیران، صرفه‌ی اقتصادی زیادی دارد.

یکی از رایج‌ترین و پرطرفدارترین دستگاه حضور غیاب در دنیا، دستگاه حضور غیاب اثرانگشتی است که تا به امروز محبوبیت بسیاری را در بین مردم به دست آورده است.
این دستگاه با استفاده از فناوری‌های بیومتریک طراحی شده است و طرز کار دستگاه به این صورت است که: ویژگی‌های فیزیکی و منحصر به فرد هر کارمند را مشخص می‌کند و در حافظه‌ی خود ثبت می‌کند و در هنگام ثبت ورود و خروج توسط دستگاه ورود و خروج، از این داده‌های ثبت شده استفاده می‌کند.
