با استفاده از خانه هوشمند و یا ساختمان هوشمند و همچنین هوشمند سازی ساختمان می توان تا مقدار بسزایی از اتلاف انرژی جلوگیری کرد خانه هوشمند، مصرف انرژی را بهینه می کند و از این طریق حتی هزینه ساختمان کاهش می یابد ساختمان هوشمند را در نظر بگیرید که دمای منزل شما را کنترل می کند و یا هنگام حضور شما در منزل و در قسمت های مختلف ساختمان هوشمند نور تنظیم می گردد و در صورت خروج از منزل روشنایی خانه نیز غیر فعال می شود ، خوشبختانه در سالهای اخیر شرکت های زیادی در ایران در زمینه خانه هوشمند راه اندازی شده اند که از جمله می توان به نمایندگی های رسمی شرکت اشنایدر الکتریک اشاره نمود.
