فشار خون ۱۰ روی ۶ یا کمتر از این معمولا نشانگر فشار خون پایین یا هایپوتنشن مى باشد؛ به این معنی که فشار در شریان های شما در پایین ترین حالت طبیعی قرار دارد.

فشار خون سیستولیک ( عدد بالا)، فشار شریان ها در زمان تپیدن قلب مى باشد. این فشار اندازه گیری می کند که عضله قلب چه میزان در حال تلاش برای پمپ کردن خون در سراسر بدن است. در مقابل، فشار دیاستولیک ( عدد پایین)، فشار خون در برابر دیواره های رگ های خونى بین دو ضربان قلب، زمانی که قلب آرام است، مى باشد.
